Management Team Bios

Richard Sharpe, CEO
Richard is a successful business leader and a widely recognized thought leader on supply chain issues. A frequent speaker at national meetings of The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) and other industry events, he has also authored articles for a number of national supply chain related publications. Richard is a founding member of the American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN), a non-profit consortium of 18 supply chain professional organizations serving Disaster Relief Agencies in times of crisis.  He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Warehouse Research and Education Council (WERC) as well as on the Advisory Board for Georgia Tech’s Executive Masters in International Logistics (EMIL) Program.

Prior to founding Competitive Insights, Richard was President of CAPS Logistics, Inc., a logistics software and services company providing leading-edge solutions to Fortune 500 companies worldwide. Richard has also helped to create and manage large operating company organizations. Upon completion of strategic manufacturing efforts for AT&T, Richard helped plan and execute the supply chain infrastructure supporting the BellSouth Corporation.

A graduate of Georgia Tech with a MS in Industrial Engineering, Richard was inducted into the Council of Outstanding Young Engineering Alumni as part of the Engineering Hall of Fame and The Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni at Georgia Tech.

Lynne Goldman, Director
Lynne oversees the development and support of the firm’s SaaS offering, CI.RADAaR, and provides technical insight into the development of various modeling applications. Lynne has extensive experience in the field of supply chain analysis and has held leadership roles in large network analysis endeavors as well as in configuring transportation and performance metric applications.

With over 17 years experience in logistics, her work has included algorithm development, software engineering, and mathematical model development. Prior to CI, Lynne worked in both Research and Development and the Client Services group for CAPS Logistics.

Lynne is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Computer Mathematics. She received an MS in Industrial Engineering specializing in Operations Research from Ohio State University.

Tammy Rowden, Director

Tammy is deeply involved in the development of the firm’s modeling approaches as well as providing direction on customer-specific designs. She has over 20 years experience in the design and development of various supply chain related applications.

Formerly a manager with i2 Technologies, her focus in supply chain involved demonstrating proof of concept in the areas of network planning and design, production planning, shipment optimization, and process monitoring. Her experience includes work for a variety of industries including home improvement; heavy manufacturing; food, beverage, and consumer products; distribution; and retailing.

Prior to i2, Tammy worked for CAPS Logistics as first a consultant, then as a Director of Consulting. Her work included strategy formulation for new products, creating prototypes, outlining modeling approaches, and providing technical guidance to internal groups.

Tammy received a BS in Mathematics and an MS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Florida.

Joyce Quinet, Client Services Management
Joyce oversees the overall daily management of CI projects and client relationship support.  She also provides guidance on the development of operational processes, systems development, training, and customer support.  Joyce has over 15 years of experience in process and project management, data analysis, strategic planning, and operations.

Prior to Competitive Insights, Joyce was with AT&T where she was responsible for addressing critical issues for the Southeast Local Operations organization. She authored the region’s long-term strategic plan, and developed and monitored operational tactics to support the strategy.  Joyce developed, rolled out, and tracked corrective action plans to ensure compliance. Additionally, Joyce partnered with the CFO organization to define, implement, and monitor various cost reduction initiatives. Joyce also defined, communicated, and monitored operational processes for the installation, test, and acceptance of network equipment within AT&T’s central offices. She was responsible for the development, analysis, and reporting of all operational metrics for the Southeast Region long-distance network.

Joyce earned a BBA in Decision Sciences from Georgia State University.
